Miller Mobile Animal Chiropractic
Horses and dogs have a spine and nervous system, and can benefit from regular chiropractic care.
Dr. Kendra uses specific and gentle hands-on techniques to examine the spine and extremities to determine if an animal needs an adjustment, and if so, when and where the specific adjustment will be performed. Dr. Kendra thoroughly assesses the joints of the spine and extremities to assess joint mobility and function. Once a chiropractic subluxation is found, a high velocity, low amplitude force is applied with her hands to restore normal motion and function. Once the joint can move and function freely, the nervous system responds to restore normal function as well.
Dr. Kendra has worked with a wide range of breeds in both horses and dogs, and takes into account the physical and personality differences of each animal under her care.

If segments of the spine or limbs do not move properly, they can cause pain, neurologic and muscular imbalance, inflammation, tissue changes or organ dysfunction. The purpose of the chiropractic adjustment is to identify the segments that are not moving properly, introduce a force to the segment, and restore normal motion. By doing so, normal function is restored of the spine and nervous system. The adjustment is not just about moving the joints of the spine and extremities, but rather to improve the function of the nervous system and restore balance to the whole body.

Animals are not able to communicate with words, but they do tell us a lot by how they move and behave. Their body language gives subtle clues that tell us how they are feeling and functioning.
For example, does your dog or horse’s tail swish more to one side or the other? Does their head bob too much or too little when they walk? Do they hesitate going down hills or stairs? Do they hesitate to jump into the car or over a log? Does your horse walk and trot just fine, but does not like to canter to the left? Some more advanced symptoms include, Does your dog lose control of their hind legs? Are they having bowel issues? Is the animal weak in the hind end or in an extremity? These are all examples that there could be a biomechanical reason why they do not want to, or cannot, perform a task. They may experience pain when asked to do certain things, or they have limited range of motion etc. Chiropractic care also helps with slipped discs in the spine, spinal degeneration, chewing and jaw problems, amongst many other symptoms. The goal of chiropractic care is to remove the cause of the symptoms, not just mask it or hide it.
